Questions & answers

Before you pack your suitcase.

Do I need to speak English?

No. Polish tour leaders are with you throughout the trip, and every meeting, workshop and story is translated as we go. English may come in handy when shopping — but you will manage without it.

Is the trip suitable for travellers aged 60+?

Yes. This is a cultural journey, not an extreme one — we adjust the pace to the group, and the most demanding parts (like the night climb of the Ijen volcano) are optional. The itinerary also includes days of relaxation by the ocean.

What do the flights and connections look like?

We fly together from Poland, usually with one or two connections. All the logistics — times, airports, luggage — are sent to you before booking and once again in the full information pack before departure.

How much time do we spend on the road?

Less than you might expect — Indonesia is an archipelago, so we combine comfortable minibuses with a luxury train, ferries and domestic flights. Longer legs are always broken up with sights along the way.

Is the itinerary intense?

It is rich, but wisely paced. Days full of experiences alternate with free days (Pemuteran, Padang Bai), and the evenings are yours. We sometimes rise before dawn — but sunrise over Borobudur is worth every wake-up call.

What kind of hotels do we choose?

Comfortable ones, personally vetted by us — with air conditioning, a pool and breakfast. We choose places with soul and a good location, not anonymous chains.

What is included in the price?

Accommodation with breakfast, all transport on the ground (minibuses, train, ferries, domestic flights), all entrance tickets, workshops, and the care of 2 Polish tour leaders and an Indonesian guide. Not included: the visa, tips and meals other than breakfast — you will find the full breakdown next to each trip itinerary.

How much money should I bring?

Breakfast is included, and we plan the other meals together — we eat at good local places, where lunch usually costs the equivalent of PLN 20–50 (roughly USD 5–13). Allow for tips and a souvenir budget: batik, silver and coffee are hard to leave behind.

Do I need a visa and vaccinations?

The tourist visa (e-VOA) is easily arranged online — we will walk you through it step by step. No vaccinations are mandatory; it is worth discussing the recommended ones with a travel medicine doctor.

What is the weather like in October?

It is the tail end of the dry season — warm (26–32°C), plenty of sunshine, with short afternoon showers possible. Great light for photos and a pleasant ocean temperature.

Is there any free time?

Yes, it is built into the itinerary — whole days of relaxation in Pemuteran and Padang Bai, plus free evenings. And if you would like to stay longer, you can extend the trip by 6 nights on the Gili Islands.

How big are the groups?

10–12 people. Deliberately intimate — so we can go where large groups are not allowed, and so everyone has space of their own.

Can I travel solo?

Of course — many of our travellers join solo. A small group quickly becomes a crew, and many friendships made on our trips last for years.

What is the pace of sightseeing?

A slow-travel rhythm with expedition energy: in the morning we are where it is worth being at dawn, and the afternoons flow more gently. Less box-ticking, more experiencing.

Do you help with preparations before departure?

Yes — you get a packing list, help with the visa and insurance, an invitation to the participants group, and a pre-departure online meeting where we answer all your questions.
